About Our Sleep Health Centres

Diagnosis and Treatment for Sleep Disorders

Our Sleep Health Centres are unique to Australia. They are specialised sleep medicine centres that provide all the required services needed to diagnose, treat, and sustainably support patients with sleep disorders. At a single site or campus, patients receive Respiratory and Sleep Physician Consultation, state of the art sleep investigation unit based diagnostic testing, initiation of treatment including positive airway pressure devices or oral appliances, and receive long-term follow-up care and management.

Respiratory and Sleep Specialists Sleep Health Centre Programmes provide coordinated diagnosis, medical, dietetic, psychological, pharmacological and behavioural treatments and follow-up services to those suffering from sleep disorders. These integrated services enable Respiratory and Sleep Specialists to offer referring Doctors and patients greater convenience, valuable information and better outcomes.

Respiratory and Sleep Specialists Sleep Health Centres are staffed by highly qualified Respiratory and Sleep Physicians and experts in the field of sleep medicine, including Nurses, Scientists, Psychologists, Sleep Dentists, Dietitians and Exercise Physiologists.

CPAP Treatment Management

Without proper education, guidance and encouragement, patients new to CPAP treatment can easily become overwhelmed and frustrated. At the very best this may result in poor compliance or usage of the machine. At the very worst, it can lead to abandonment of treatment altogether. A number of published studies have indicated that both the manner in which initial education is performed and how patient follow-up is conducted in the first month of CPAP usage are crucial to ongoing patient commitment and compliance with treatment.

Respiratory and Sleep Specialists' Sleep Health Centre CPAP initiation programme offers a highly specialised education and mask fitting session, followed by intensive patient counselling, monitoring of patients for problems and compliance and ongoing follow-up. Respiratory and Sleep Specialists CPAP Consultants work with the patient throughout the entire process. Our Consultants ensure the highest possible compliance by monitoring the patient's progress through Sleep Health Centre visits and phone calls. Progress reports are sent to the prescribing Sleep Physician to keep them informed of patient treatment.

Sleep Health Programme

Our optional Sleep Health Programme includes Dietitian and Exercise Physiologist consultation designed to be undertaken in conjunction with CPAP treatment. Our Sleep Health Programme provides a 'beyond the airway' approach to managing obstruction sleep apnoea.
